Toronto, ON (July 23, 2014) – The new lyric video for single “Got to Have It” from jacksoul will have you moving and grooving. Click here to watch and share it!
Inspired by Haydain’s smooth and sexy attitude, and the inherent danceability of the song, the lyric video encapsulates the fluidity of dance and instantly commands the release of all inhibitions. Its design was led by Ron Lopata, jacksoul keyboardist and co-writer, and Michaela Hudson, the wife of late Haydain Neale, lead singer of jacksoul. The retro feel and soulful silhouettes synchronise perfectly with the groovy beat and effortlessly cool sounds of Haydain’s voice.
Since “Got to Have It” premiered, it was an instant add on Toronto’s CHFI (#1 AC station in Canada) and CHUM FM (#1 Hot AC station in Canada).
The song stays true to the essence of jacksoul's positive spirit that was omnipresent in singer and face of the band, Haydain Neale. The demo track written and recorded by Neale in the summer of 2007, featured lead and layered background vocals, all from one-take performances. Ron Lopata believes the track is one “Haydain would be super proud of.” Lopata adds, “Even though the guts of this track were written seven years ago, it’s NOW that it feels so perfectly pertinent...vibe-wise, musically, and with its quirky lyrics...It’s almost as if Nile Rogers and Pharrell got together and co-wrote it with Haydain.”
Haydain Neale created universally unforgettable music and succeeded in demonstrating that soul transcends the typical notion of genre. As a band, jacksoul was internationally heralded as incredible musicians who deliver soul rousing, powerfully intoxicating music.
