jacksoul Greatest Hits

Toronto, ON (September 30, 2014) – jacksoul are set to release their long awaited greatest hits collection on November 25, 2014 on Sony Music Canada Entertainment Inc. This will be the definitive package of jacksoul’s most beloved hits, celebrating creator and frontman Haydain Neale’s legacy of unstoppable beats, amazing lyrics and signature raspy voice.

Over the course of the band’s career, jacksoul has been honoured with the SOCAN Award for "R&B Song of the Year," a Canadian Urban Music Award for "Songwriter of the Year," 3 JUNO Awards for "Best R&B/Soul Recording"; and achieved numerous #1 chart positions for singles and videos, across multiple radio formats, MuchMoreMusic and Musimax.

The collection features sixteen tracks, including fan favourites "Can't Stop", "Somedays" and "Still Believe In Love". Along with old classics, the album features three new jacksoul songs from Neale’s unreleased demo files: the new single "Got To Have It", "Whole Day" and "Spiralling," a beautiful & poignant reflection, a solemn song which touches upon life, love, its struggles, its value, its relations and, saying goodbye. The songs will remind fans of Haydain’s incredible vocals and smooth tones, providing a nostalgic and yet refreshing feel. This compilation of greatest hits and newly discovered tracks is the ultimate must have for jacksoul fans. Watch the lyric video for "Got To Have It".

Haydain Neale created universally unforgettable music and succeeded in demonstrating that soul transcends the typical notion of genre. As a band, jacksoul was internationally heralded as incredible musicians who deliver soul rousing, powerfully intoxicating music. The energy of a jacksoul concert was electric - real, sweaty, human performances, and they shared the stage with James Brown, Patti Labelle, Jim Cuddy, The Guess Who and Nelly Furtado, among others. jacksoul brought that same excitement into the recording studio which resulted in five studio albums and now a complete greatest hits package.

LYRIC VIDEO WILL HAVE YOU GROOVING IN YOUR SEAT!

From The Archives of HAYDAIN NEALE Comes “GOT TO HAVE IT”
Greatest Hits Album Released Later This Fall

Toronto, ON (July 23, 2014) – The new lyric video for single “Got to Have It” from jacksoul will have you moving and grooving. Click here to watch and share it!

Inspired by Haydain’s smooth and sexy attitude, and the inherent danceability of the song, the lyric video encapsulates the fluidity of dance and instantly commands the release of all inhibitions. Its design was led by Ron Lopata, jacksoul keyboardist and co-writer, and Michaela Hudson, the wife of late Haydain Neale, lead singer of jacksoul. The retro feel and soulful silhouettes synchronise perfectly with the groovy beat and effortlessly cool sounds of Haydain’s voice.

Since “Got to Have It” premiered, it was an instant add on Toronto’s CHFI (#1 AC station in Canada) and CHUM FM (#1 Hot AC station in Canada).

The song stays true to the essence of jacksoul's positive spirit that was omnipresent in singer and face of the band, Haydain Neale. The demo track written and recorded by Neale in the summer of 2007, featured lead and layered background vocals, all from one-take performances. Ron Lopata believes the track is one “Haydain would be super proud of.” Lopata adds, “Even though the guts of this track were written seven years ago, it’s NOW that it feels so perfectly pertinent...vibe-wise, musically, and with its quirky lyrics...It’s almost as if Nile Rogers and Pharrell got together and co-wrote it with Haydain.”

Haydain Neale created universally unforgettable music and succeeded in demonstrating that soul transcends the typical notion of genre. As a band, jacksoul was internationally heralded as incredible musicians who deliver soul rousing, powerfully intoxicating music.
